Lanani Lani was an accident.One night, a travelling merchant was enjoying drinks at a tavern and caught the interest of one of the bar maids. They got to talking, and flirting... you know the drill. Well, after a long night of passion, that bar maid realized she forgot her contraceptive. Oops. Panic ensued.After their nerves calmed down, the two would've-been-one-night-lovers decided to own up and keep the child. This, of course, meant some number of lifestyle adjustments... but they discussed that, and ironed out the details together. So, though it was a bit circumstantial, a family was made! Hurray for responsibility!The child they got was adorable. And arguably never stopped being so. What she did become, however, was an ongoing accident, so to speak. For as long as she can remember, Lani has been accident-prone. This impacts several, if not every aspect of her life.It made making friends rather more difficult than it could have been... and it already would have been more difficult, due to her introverted nature! Between said nature, and often being treated as the comedic relief, she found herself more content not to try at making friends, so much. Instead, her 'friends' were characters to be found within fictional stories.It also made employment rather difficult. The process would always go the same way: get a job, cause some number of accidents, lose the job. This resulted in living with her parents for more of her life than she might have otherwise.Her parents have ever been patient with her, of course. She's their beloved daughter, and always will be. However, they've decided to nudge their baby bird out of the nest. She's past three decades old, now, so... they've decided that perhaps the best method is 'sink or swim.' Should push come to shove, they'll be there to catch her... but they won't tell her that until that time comes. Thus does this disaster of a girl try to find some place in the world.Heavens help her.
